Six Senses collection of hotels and resorts around the world are known for their dedication to environmental and social responsibility. Leading the industry in sustainability, Six Senses properties are guided by ‘mother nature’ in everything they do. This includes participating in Cornell University's Hotel Sustainability Benchmarking program, which compares their performance against a global dataset of peers. 

Each property, under the guidance of Six Senses Vice President of Sustainability Jeff Smith, closely monitors its environmental efforts and contributions to local communities.

One of the first hotel chains to sign onto the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, led by the UN Environment Programme, Six Senses has also launched its own initiative called "Plastic Freedom." The goal was to eliminate single-use plastics and adopt circular solutions through supplier engagement, starting with their "18 Most Unwanted" items, such as plastic bottles, by 2022.

But the commitment to sustainability doesn't stop there. Six Senses is also restoring marine habitats through projects such as growing and replanting coral reefs, controlling overfishing through purchasing policies, funding conservation research, planting seagrass and protecting nesting turtles on their beaches.
