A hotel promoting transparency in its sustainability initiatives

The Dunadry hotel is an eco-friendly stay located in the beautiful countryside of Antrim, UK. The hotel is dedicated to providing genuine and honest business operations, including ecological ones. Through various initiatives, the hotel team strives to reduce its negative environmental impact and promote sustainable tourism. 

One of the hotel's green initiatives is its preference for local suppliers, which reduces its environmental impact and supports the community's economy. Additionally, by installing bat boxes, bug hotels, and planting 250 plants, they have implemented conservation measures to protect the river and local wildlife while also offsetting some of their carbon emissions.

In efforts to lower resource usage, the hotel is committed to measuring its energy and water consumption. The team can reduce energy and water waste by implementing low-flow shower heads and installing energy-efficient lighting and boilers in the building. Furthermore, the hotel aims to find a green partner to help offset any carbon usage they cannot avoid. 

BM Keely, head of the hotel’s sustainability program, shares, “It is our vision to develop our operations to become more efficient whilst reducing our negative impact on the environment and maximizing benefits that we can add to the local area.”
