The London hotel with a proud heritage. 

The Wesley Hotel was founded in 1950 by Hilda Porter, a Methodist missionary, who started the organisation after returning to post-war Britain from the Far East. Originally the hotel’s purpose was to welcome international students to the UK-  those who were otherwise unable to find affordable accommodation in cities such as London, Manchester, Bristol and Birmingham - and this work is very much alive today. 

Since 1950, The Wesley has supported tens of thousands of students who have received financial support including accommodation and hospitality as a direct result of Hilda Porter’s vision. 

The fund provides support to marginalised postgraduate and undergraduate students as well as young people in the UK and the developing world. The organisation continues to support over eighty students, studying over 20 disciplines in some of the best colleges in London.

On top of its founding principles, The Wesley Hotel is strongly committed to ethical practices, a clear environmental policy and Christian Social Responsibility.

The Wesley was the first hotel in the UK to receive the Social Enterprise Mark in 2010 and has been recognised by Camden Council as a Carbon Champion.
