Swinton Park Hotel
Steeped in history but set up for the future.
Swinton Park Hotel is set on an estate that’s steeped in history, but one that’s also committed to ensuring a sustainable future.
The Swinton Estate has been in the ownership of the Cunliffe-Lister family since the 1880’s and is now run by Mark, the current Earl of Swinton and his wife Felicity who are responsible for redeveloping this Grade II listed castle and setting up several successful and environmentally responsible enterprises across the estate.
Protecting and preserving both the estate’s natural landscape and heritage structures is a key part of their management strategy.
From water, forestry, farming and game conservation to the management of the moors, the estate works with a wide variety of organisations and advisors to ensure that it supports and delivers on both regional and national environmental policies.
Following the restoration of the walled garden, installation of a wood-chip boiler and eco-friendly laundry, the hotel’s environmental achievement has been recognised at a national level. The four-acre walled garden behind the hotel is planted with fruit, vegetables and herbs, providing a ready source of fresh seasonal ingredients for their cookery school and kitchen.
